While trying to create a new document through the Web-I we got an error. This error comes up only when trying to access a 1 particular universe.

Note: We can access that particular universe through the Business Objects (thick client).also i am able to create reports using this universe through thinck client.

Also, kindly note that the web-I gets hang when we try to refresh an existing report which points to that universe.

1. Try importing the universe from Designer and see what happens.
2. Also, check if you can see the universe copy on your WEBI server.

Your universe is locked. You need to stop the services. Find the universe file and delete it. All will be OK after that.

This happens to some universes. It will happen most every time you export. This is a big bug that BO has not been able to fix.

No. Delete the universe from the WebI server. The correct one lives in the repository. It will be downloaded automatically.

Hi all, we regularly get this error when open report design session time-out or universe files are accidentally opened whilst still exporting them to the server.

Whislt a reboot can sometimes fix it but the correct method for resolution is to delete the offending file as Steve mentioned below.

Log onto the BO Server.

NOTE: Our BO administrator can not administer our BO server; if this is the same for you, you may need to get your internal services people to log in and do this for you.

1) Find the following directory:
?:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 6\nodes\pimel-ms2\mycluster\universes\ProductionUniverse

> Delete the .unv file corresponding to the universe with the error

2) Find the following directory:
?:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 6\nodes\pimel-ms2\mycluster\universes\ProductionUniverse\ucdz

> Delete the .unw file corresponding to the universe with the error

3) Once deleted the Business Objects Administrator needs to open Designer and re-export the file that was locked/corrupted.

Do you think deleting the file will surely solve this problem?I am really worried as I am using production.I am not in the testing.

Hi, yes my method outlined below works in 9 out of 10 occurrences. Where it hasnít we simply rebooted the server. I am working in a production environment so I completely understand your concerns. It is for this reason I liaised with BO Tech Support who advised the latest patch for 6.5 solves this issue. We are yet to install patches so I am unable comment on this; the reason we haven't installed patches is because we are preparing to migrate to XIr2 and donít want to have to test patches in the interim. I am attaching a copy of our business' process I developed to manage this issue, feel free to rip it off should it help you and your users, excuse the typo I just noticed in point 2 icon_wink.gif

Hi all,

I have the same problem in Webi 6.5.2 Windows version. I tried your resolution process but I doesn't work in my case...

My problem is that I cannot create a new Webi document on a very particuliar universe. I get the WIJ20002 error using the Java panel. I get another error when using the HTML panel. It has never happened before.

At first, I thought it was a connection problem, but with a freshly created universe using the same connection I can create a Webi report.

The root of the problem must be somewhere in the universe definition. I have noticed that the size of the universe file is not the same in the folder of my designer workstation (290 Ko) and in the server folder (215Ko). Isn't it strange ?

Any idea ?
