This is a very generic error which means there was a communication issue somewhere in Business objects. I would suggest searching BOB forum for error as there are many causes.

Just remembered one of the things recommended by BO Support. This may no longer apply but I'm letting you know anyway. They had us add entries in the HOSTS file for every server used in the BO environment ON every server in our BO environment.

For Example:

Server A Host File - Server B IP addr, Server C IP addr
Server B Host File - Server A IP addr, Server C IP addr
Server C Host File - Server A IP addr, Server B IP addr

This may or may not help. It will only "hurt" if/when the IP addresses in your environment change.
