Post subject: Does Business Objects Round - at 5 & higher or 6 & h

I have read that the Business Objects default is to round - if Business Objects rounds, then why is there a need for the round function?
It appears to round if the number is 6 or higher, but not if the number is 5.

I have a report that displays 1 decimal position.
(data for 5 months) Apr May Jun Jul Aug
Actual(total) 97.1% 97.2% 98.0% 97.8% 97.8%

Here is the data if I display 2 decimal positions.
(data for 5 months) Apr May Jun Jul Aug
Actual(total) 97.13% 97.20% 97.97% 97.82% 97.85%

If rounding happens at 5 and higher(as it should) 97.85 should be rounded to 97.9 when I display 1 decimal.

On another part of the same report you can see that it rounds up if the number is more than 5.
data when I expand to show 2 decimals
97.88% 97.83% 97.37% 97.60% 97.58%
data from report showing 1 decimal
97.9% 97.8% 97.4% 97.6% 97.6

So, does Business Objects Round - at 5 & higher or 6 & higher? If it doesn't round at 5 - why?

The only "default" rounding is for display purposes. If you want to force rounding, you need the function.

The actual value may be 97.849123456789 .... rounding to one decimal place would be 97.8, and rounding to two decimal places would be 97.85 ... again, the total precision is maintained "behind the scenes."
